Facebook has lit up recently with the story of a pit bull that mauled a local 4-year-old boy. In the coming weeks, the fate of the dog will be determined. The boy survived the attack, but is left with a long process of surgery after surgery. There is a high likelihood that the Mickey, the dog, will be put down, but there is an active online petition to keep that from happening. There is now a dispute between those on the side of euthanizing the dog, including the family of the person taking care of the little boy, and those who think those in charge of the boy and the dog are accountable, not the dog.
